My name is Ingegerd (Ingrid) Landstrom and I am a writer and communications manager, based in Los Angeles. Originally from Sweden, I moved here some ten years ago with my Angeleno husband and three kids. Sooner than anticipated, I found the sunshine and the people to be quite addicting.

For my writing I am interested in a wide variety of topics, including environment and sustainability, culture, politics and social issues. I enjoy writing profiles and I am constantly on the lookout for stories about this exciting, intriguing, impossible-to-pin-down city of Los Angeles. I run an online magazine devoted to everything Swedish in Southern California, particularly the Los Angeles area. It is called SWECal Magazine and you can find it here.

My background is in research and I have a  Ph.D. in Human Geography from Uppsala University in Sweden. Here in Los Angeles I have previously worked at the Swedish Consulate General in Los Angeles, taught language (English and Swedish) at Berlitz, and volunteered for the Los Angeles Public Library and the fabulous organization WriteGirl.

In addition to my writing, I work part time as the Communications manager for the Church of Sweden, Los Angeles.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions and ideas for articles. I look forward to hearing from you!
